Thymic Well Differentiated Neuroendocrine Carcinoma (Carcinoid and Atypical Carcinoid)
Clinical
- Rare in children
- About 25% of patients with thymic carcinoid have multiple endocrine neoplasia 1 (MEN1)
- MEN2 is rare
- About 20% have endocrine symptoms
- Most frequent is Cushing syndrome (ACTH)
- Carcinoid syndrome, myasthenia gravis and hypogammaglobulinemia are not reported
- Poor prognosis
