Genetic analysis
- t(7;16) (q32-34;p11) identified in up to 96% of low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma
- Also present in a subset of sclerosing epithelioid fibrosarcoma, suggesting a relationship
- Not present in other fibrous or myxoid neoplasms
