Genetic Studies
- While not typically used for diagnosis, clear cell tubulopapillary carcinomas are distinct from both conventional clear cell and papillary carcinomas
- They do not exhibit loss of 3p or von Hippel Lindau gene alterations seen in conventional clear cell renal cell carcinoma
- They do not exhibit gains of chromosomes 7, 17 or loss of Y seen in papillary carcinoma
